LEXINGTON, Ky.—

In the spring of 2008, The Kentucky Plaid Project, first became a reality. Students in two undergraduate classes in UK's School of Human Environmental Sciences were challenged to create a plaid unique to the university and Kentuckians would choose their favorite. A winner was chosen, and by that fall, the first products were available in men's ties, and scarves for women, as the official Kentucky plaid. Now, more than ten years later, the UK plaid is still going strong and is being manufactured locally with UK students involved more than ever.
